Revlon Haul

Hello and welcome back to my blog! I hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine. So today I decided to do a quick post on a few makeup bits I picked up yesterday in Boots.

These are the products I picked up, I bought three products from Revlon as I needed a new foundation and it also happened to be on 3 for 2! Revlon is one of the brands that I had never really tried before. I would say its more on the pricey end of the drugstore but I've heard great things about them so I thought it was finally time to give them a go.

So the foundation I bought is the Revlon ColorStay for Combination/Oily Skin in the shade 110 Ivory. I've heard so many good things about this foundation and so many people recommend it (including Tanya Burr) so I was interested to see what it was like especially because they do individual formulations for each skin type which is hard to find in a drugstore foundation. Last week I actually tested it on my hand but I wanted to give it a few hours to see how it felt on my skin as so many foundations I've tried dry really orange or patchy on me. This for me felt really lightweight but gave a good coverage and it didn't dry my skin out at all which I find happens with a lot of the foundations designed for oily skin types, so I decided to go back and get it! They have a good colour range and I was able to find a shade that was the perfect match for me, as I always find that the lightest shade is too light for me and the next shade up is too dark, but this was just right for me. I haven't worn this for a full day yet so I don't know whether it lives up to its claim of lasting for up to 24 hours, but it certainly looks promising. In terms of packaging it comes in a glass bottle with a plastic cap and a pump. The price of this foundation is £12.99 and you can find it at the drugstore or online.

I decided to take advantage of the 3 for 2 and so I picked up this Revlon Matte Balm in the shade 205 Elusive and as you can see from the swatch its a gorgeous deep pink colour. I've already tried this on my lips and although the colour is a lot brighter than I would normally go for, its perfect for the Summer months. I also love the formulation as it glides on like a lip balm and dries to a matte finish that is comfortable and not at all drying on the lips. As well as this is smells like mint and when you first apply it you get a slight tingling sensation which I actually quite like. There is a range of different colours available and the packaging is matte and corresponds with each lip colour. The product itself comes in the sort of crayon form and is fully retractable. The price of this is £7.99. If you want to see what it looks like then check out my new video over on my YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/vw7G3RQmseg) as its what I'm wearing on my lips.

The last thing I picked up was this Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in the shade 460 Blushing Mauve which is one of their Pearl finishes. Lipstick is my biggest weakness, I can never have too many and I wanted to add this stunning colour to my collection. Its a similar colour to Matte balm but more of a rosy pink with a pearlescent shine to it. I haven't tried this on my lips yet but it looks like it will be really moisturising and comfortable to wear. This was also £7.99.

So that was everything I bought I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments what products you love from Revlon and would recommend. Speak to you soon. JustClare :) x

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz - Review

Hello welcome back to my blog! Today I'm reviewing another product; the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Skinny Brow Pencil. I decided to buy this as I heard a lot of talk about it and I have a constant struggle with my brows so anything that's going to make that easier and my brows look semi decent is something I'm willing to try. If you want to find a bit more about the product and what I thought about it then carry on reading :)

This is what the product looks like alongside the box it came in. The Brow Wiz is made by the company Anastasia Beverly Hills which is a cruelty free brand. Personally I've never tried anything from them before but I've heard a lot of good things about them. The packaging itself is really good quality which is what you would expect for something higher-end. The product has two ends, with the brow pencil on one end to fill in the brows and a spoolie on the other to brush them out. It retails for about £15.50 so is quite pricey for what it is but the quality of it and the effect it gives justifies the price tag.

This is the actual brow pencil and as you can see it is very slim making it really easy to mimic brow hairs which results in very neat and natural brows. The tip is retractable but you have to twist to retract it so it doesn't push back in when applying pressure, which I find quite annoying with other products I've tried.

This is it swatched and mines in the shade Medium Brown. I find that I don't need to apply much pressure at all to get a good amount of payoff and the colour itself is the best match I've ever found for my brows. They also have the best colour range I've seen so hopefully there's a shade for everyone. It has a waxy formula that is very long-lasting and does not budge on me at all. Its such a convenient product to have as its very quick and easy to use and its slim design makes it perfect for keeping in my makeup bag and taking travelling.

This is the spoolie which is really good quality and does a great job of tidying up my eyebrows and also blending away any excess product leaving a really clean and natural finish but yet still defined. With just a few small strokes of the pencil and a brush through with the spoolie my brows look so much more put together. It's a product I would definitely recommend.

Thank you for reading I hope you enjoyed. Also let me know in the comments what products you would recommend and would like to see me do a review of. Speak to you soon. JustClare :) x

My Top 5 Lip Products

Hello welcome back to my blog! Firstly I just want to apologize for the lack of posts recently but I have exams coming up so I haven't had a lot of spare time, but I set aside a bit of time today to do this post. This post will basically just talk you through my top 5 lip products all of which I love and use on a regular basis.

These are my top 5 favourite lip products (not in any particular order). From left: Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in Lunch Date, Avon Ultra Colour Lipstick in Matte Nude, Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in Fig Leaf, Mac Satin Lipstick in Brave and Model Co Lipstick in Kitty.

Firstly we have the Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in Lunch Date. As you can see from the photo the one I have is in the old packaging but this shade is still being sold in the new collection. I have used this a lot and its just a really wearable everyday shade. The formulation is really lovely and not sticky at all and not to mention that it smells like strawberries! Also its really easy to apply thanks to the soft, flexible applicator which helps the product to glide on. I would really recommend these lip glosses even if you are not a fan of lip gloss I would definitely give this a try, you might be pleasantly surprised. Its very affordable as well at the price of £5.99 from Superdrug or Feelunique.

This next one is a Lipstick by Avon in the shade Matte Nude, a very creative name I know haha. This lipstick is the perfect matte as it doesn't dry out my lips at all but it definitely doesn't have any shine to it and its really long lasting as well. The colour is really stunning and makes for the perfect Kylie Jenner-esque  pout. Again quite affordable at the price of £5.50.

This next one is by Natural Collection which is exclusive to Boots. Its one of their moisture shine lipsticks in the shade Fig Leaf which is a light brown nude. This one has quite a smooth shiny finish to it and leaves your lips looking very natural. Its a very wearable everyday shade perfect for school or work and the cheapest by far at £1.99. I love wearing this lipstick underneath the Tanya Burr lip gloss as it makes for the perfect combination.

This next one is by MAC and happens to be the only one I have ever owned and I absolutely adore it. I have the shade Brave which is a gorgeous dark pink nude and very easy to wear. It is one of their satin formulations which is almost matte but with slightly more moisture. I find this lipstick lasts a really long time and even after eating or drinking there is still colour left. This one is slightly more pricey at £15.50 so is perhaps one to save for or ask for as a present but is definitely worth the money.

Finally this last one is a lipstick by Model Co which I hadn't heard of until I received this in one of my Birchboxes, but I'm so glad I did because its now one of my favourites. I have the shade Kitty which is a really pretty pink nude, lighter than Brave. This lipstick has a really creamy texture which means it glides on effortlessly and feels really comfortable on the lips, whilst drying almost matte so again lasts well throughout the day. This one however is the most expensive at £17.00.

The photo above shows them all swatched. From top left: Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in Lunch Date, Avon Ultra Colour Lipstick in Matte Nude, Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in Fig Leaf, Mac Satin Lipstick in Brave and underneath is the Model Co Lipstick in Kitty.

KIKO Cream Radiance Highlighter - Review

Hello everyone welcome back to my blog I hope you are all well :) Today I have decided to do my first product review and I will be reviewing the KIKO Cream Radiance Highlighter. This is actually the first thing I have ever purchased from KIKO so I was extremely excited to try it out.

The highlighter came in dome shaped packaging which is kind of holographic and looks so cool, although may not be the most practical design for travelling. The shade I chose was 02 Alluring Sand which is warm toned with gold running through it, so would be perfect for summer. It caught my eye immediately in the shop and I've really been getting into highlighters recently so after swatching it this was one that I definitely wanted to try.

When you open it up you get a good amount of product and then a little mirror in the lid which is really handy.

The highlighter is absolutely stunning and is super shimmery which for me makes for the perfect highlight. It has a super creamy texture as well so it is so easy to apply and blend. I've loved applying it to my cheekbones in particular and it just gives you a really pretty dewy glow making your skin look really healthy and radiant!

I just can't get over how stunning this product is and the quality is amazing. KIKO is such an affordable brand, I think this was only about £5.50, so I will definitely be checking out more from them. I would highly recommend giving this a swatch if you see it and I hope you love it as much as I do!

Thank you for reading I hope you enjoyed. Also let me know in the comments what products you would recommend from KIKO and also any products you would like to see me do a review of. Speak to you soon. JustClare :) x

February Birchbox 2016

Hello everyone and welcome back! February brings the last Birchbox for me and this one did not disappoint. This month's theme was all about diamonds because you know who doesn't love a good diamond ;) Although there weren't any actual diamonds the products this month were amazing and the box was really pretty with rose gold lettering and tones of blues and pinks :)

The products I received this month were:

LOC One and Done Shadow Stick in Champagne Problems (full Size)
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster (sample)
Ayres Body Butter in Patagonia (sample)
theBalm cosmetics Frat Boy Blush/Shadow (sample)
L.Erickson Grab & Go Ponytail Holder

So thats it for the Birchbox posts but I will definitely be looking to subscribe to it myself at some point in the near future. The products I received this month were incredible and can we just all appreciate the Spectrum Brush though, its gorgeous! Anyway I hope you have enjoyed reading this post and I will speak to you all soon :) ~JustClare x

A Day by the Sea

Hello and welcome back. Today I went to Weymouth with my parents, which is a seasidey town. You might think we're crazy going to the beach at this time of year but it was nice to be by the sea, enjoy the fresh air and have a bit of a wonder. I took a few photos throughout the day so I thought I would make a blog post with them plus it will be nice for me to revisit this in years to come.

This first photo was taken by the harbour and as you can see even though it is February the sun was out and there wasn't a cloud in sight. There wasn't even a breeze so it didn't feel very cold even though it was only about 7°C.

For lunch we got a good old portion of Fish & Chips from Bennett's on the Waterfront. We get them from here every time we come to Weymouth because they do the nicest fish and chips ever! I also treated myself to a battered creme egg which they do every year in the weeks leading up to Easter and although it sounds gross I promise you it is sooo good. They also do battered Mars bars, Twixs and Crunchies all year round (I've only tried the Mars bar but they are also really tasty). Not only are their food delicious all of their fish are caught sustainably! So I would highly recommend them if you are ever visiting :)

After lunch we headed up to Nothe Gardens which surround the Nothe Fort where there were some clear signs that Spring is on the way. Snowdrops and Daffodils dotted the landscape which looked really colourful against all the dead plants and dormant trees from Winter.

Spring is probably my favourite season so its nice to see the first signs of it and hopefully it is the start of warmer and more sunny days ahead.

Various wildlife had also come out to enjoy the sun which resulted in some good photo opportunities.

In Nothe Gardens you can find the most tame squirrels you will ever see. People were feeding them and they would take it out of their hands one even climbed up a girls leg!

Another little birdie enjoying the sunshine :)

In this last photo you can see how blue the sea was it looks like the middle of Summer! After this we just went and had a look round the shops. I enjoyed the day and it was nice to get out of the house and have a change of scenery.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my day and I hope you have all had a lovely day whatever you were doing and I will speak to you all soon :) ~JustClare x

Lush Haul

Hello everyone and Happy Valentines Day! I hope you have a great day whatever your doing :) Today I have another Lush Haul because I'm sure you all know by now how much I love Lush and also because they have brought out some amazing new products for Valentines and Mothers Day! Keep reading to see the products I have bought with a little description of each and the prices as well.

The first thing I picked up is the Lovers Lamp bath bomb which is one they have brought out for Valentines. This has an amazing chocolatey orangey scent and releases cute little hearts as it fizzes away. It is made from cocoa butter making it super smoothing on the skin and orange oil and vanilla absolute give it that perfectly sweet and warming scent.
Price ~ £3.95

I couldn't resist picking up a Unicorn Horn bubble bar. This one again is a limited edition one for Valentines which they released last year but sold out before I could get one so I was so happy when they brought them out again! This one is just so fun and colourful leaving your bath a pretty pink colour with silver lustre when crumbled under the running water. It contains lavender, ylang ylang and neroli oil making the perfect scent combination for bedtime bathing. Unicorn Horn is perfect for those who find it hard to relax or get a good night sleep.
Price ~ £4.25

This next one is the Ladybird bubble bar which they have brought out for Mothers Day. It is just so adorable and the scent to this one is not too overpowering with a subtle scent of sweet peppermint and geranium oil. It turns the bath red and is the perfect treat after a long day.
Price ~ £3.95

Another one for Mothers Day this is the Flowering Tea reuseable bubble bar. You can get lots of baths from this one as you just hold it under the tap and it creates lots of bubbles. With an uplifting floral scent made from rosewood and neroli oils and orange flower absolute this is another good one to make you feel calm and relaxed. It leaves the bath water cloudy with a subtle sparkle as it melts under the water blue cornflowers are released and float upon the surface.
Price ~ £4.95

Also brought out for Mothers Day is Rose Bombshell bath bomb which as you can guess smells of roses. Be prepared to have a stunning bath spectacle as rose petals appear through cloudy pink waters bringing with them the scent of Sicilian lemon and floral geranium. This one is certainly not boring!
Price ~ £3.95

This next one is Grass bubble bar which to me does smell a bit like cut grass. It contains sandalwood, bergamot and neroli which give it that fresh uplifting scent. This one will be perfect for the springtime and although this one is quite new I don't think its limited edition so it should still be on sale for awhile yet.
Price ~ £3.75

The last one I picked up is the Guardian of the Forest bath bomb which has a similar fresh scent to the Grass bubble bar. This one explodes into a variety of greens and shimmer making it very exciting and not like anything I have seen at lush before. The key ingredients for this one are cypress, rosewood and lime oils and oakmoss absolute which give that fresh foresty smell.
Price ~ £3.95

So that is it for this Lush Haul no doubt there will be another one soon haha. I hope you enjoyed reading and let me know what products you have recently discovered and love so I can check them out :) ~JustClare x
